Upgrading, Downgrading, and Cancelling

Upgrading

To upgrade, open Settings → Plans inside Mashup and click Choose plan on the tier you want. Shopify will show its standard subscription approval screen — you confirm the new monthly or annual price, and the upgrade applies immediately. Your new quotas are available right away, and the prorated difference between your old plan and your new one is reflected on your next invoice.

Switching from monthly to annual is treated as an upgrade and applies immediately, with the same proration logic.

Downgrading

Downgrading — moving from a higher tier to a lower one, or from annual to monthly within the same tier — does not apply immediately. Instead, Mashup schedules the change to take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do this because you have already paid for the period you are in, and we never want to charge you for something we then take away before the cycle ends.

When you schedule a downgrade, the Settings page clearly shows:

  • The plan you are currently on (still active).
  • The plan you have scheduled.
  • The exact date the change will take effect (this is the same as your current cycle's renewal date).
  • A button to Cancel scheduled change, which reverts the schedule and keeps you on your current plan when the cycle renews.

Between scheduling and the effective date, you continue to enjoy your full current plan's quotas. No prorated refund is issued, because no portion of the period has been forfeited.

Cancellation

You can cancel any time. Cancelling is the same as scheduling a downgrade to "no plan" — it takes effect at the end of your current cycle. Until then, everything continues to work normally. At the cycle end, Mashup reverts to its free, view-only state: your existing pages stay live, your drafts stay accessible, and your widgets keep running on your storefront, but you cannot create new builds or AI photos until you resubscribe.

To cancel, open Settings → Plans and click Cancel subscription.

Reactivation

If you previously cancelled and want to come back, just pick a plan again under Settings → Plans. All your old pages, drafts, bundles, and SEO entries are still there. Your build credits and AI photo tokens reset to your new plan's allowance.

Refunds

Mashup charges are processed by Shopify and refunds follow Shopify's refund policies. We are happy to issue prorated refunds for honest mistakes — accidental upgrades, duplicate charges, double-billing across uninstall/reinstall cycles. Email hello@mashupai.io within thirty days of the charge and we will sort it out.

We do not offer refunds for unused build credits or photo tokens at the end of a cycle, because unused allowances do not roll over to the next cycle in the first place.
