Cookie Policy
Effective date: May 28, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Mashup (“Mashup”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our marketing website at www.mashupai.ioand inside the Mashup Shopify app (the “App”). It complements our Privacy Policy, which you should read for the full picture of how we handle personal information.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences, to understand how a site is used, and to deliver more relevant content. We also use closely related technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags; for simplicity we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the website and App to function — for example, remembering that you have a session, balancing load across our servers, or providing basic security. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies without breaking the Service.
Functional cookies. Remember choices you make so we can give you a consistent experience — for example, remembering your selected plan view, your theme preference, or your dismissal of in-app notices.
Analytics cookies. Help us understand how visitors and merchants use our site and app in aggregate (pages visited, features used, errors encountered) so we can improve the product. We use privacy-respecting analytics only.
Marketing cookies. We do not currently set marketing or advertising cookies on www.mashupai.io. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.
3. First-party vs. third-party cookies
First-party cookies are set by Mashup directly when you visit our domain.
Third-party cookies are set by services we integrate with. Currently the most relevant third parties are:
- Shopify. When the App runs inside your Shopify admin, Shopify’s own cookies apply (for authentication, embedded-app session, App Bridge, etc.). Shopify’s practices are described in Shopify’s Cookie Policy.
- Vercel. Our marketing website is hosted by Vercel, which may set cookies for basic security and abuse prevention (e.g. anti-bot challenges).
We do not control third-party cookies; the third parties listed above are responsible for their own practices.
4. How we use cookies
- To keep you signed in to the App and the Shopify embed session
- To remember in-app preferences and dismissed notices
- To detect, prevent, and respond to security and abuse incidents
- To measure aggregate usage and improve performance and reliability
- To debug errors via diagnostic tooling
5. Managing cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
- Do Not Track. We honor “Do Not Track” browser signals for non-essential cookies on www.mashupai.io.
- Consent (EEA / UK). If you are visiting from a jurisdiction that requires consent for non-essential cookies, we will ask before setting them, and you can change your choice at any time via the cookie banner.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the App or website. Blocking analytics cookies is fully supported and will not affect functionality.
6. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through our website or via email to merchant account owners.
